It is assumed that Mutants are gone. Logan (Hugh Jackman) has become confined and has given into drinking. He’s primary job now is picking up petty cash as a hired driver. His companions in exile are the outcast Caliban and an ailing Professor X. Logan is obliged to care for an ailing Professor X (Patrick Stewart) at a remote outpost on the Mexican border whose singular mind is plagued by worsening seizures. Logan’s attempts to hide from the world abruptly come to an end when an enigmatic woman appears with an urgent request -that Logan shepherd an extraordinary young girl -Laura Howlett (Dafnee keen) to safety. Soon, all Hell is let loose as Logan must face off against dark forces in an attempt to protect the girl and battle the dark forces that want to capture her.
The movie had a great reputation ahead of its release. The trailer I must confess was explosive. It made me literally fantasize. The camera angles, the sounds accompanying each scene, the energy in the air as Logan navigated on set blah blah blah. Costume, make-up, locations… all fantastic. BUT! The trailer was more interesting than the movie itself. No, No, don’t get me wrong. Logan is a great movie, but but buttttt… When I heard it was likely going to be his last wolverine appearance, and with that trailer? I expected more action. I mean quality action.
The good news is….
This is the Malachi of Wolverine. We loved the fact that ‘Logan’ was used as a setup for a Wolverine comeback. Bringing a brand new replacement to the scene of wolverine was just fantastic. ANDDDDDDDDDDDDD…it happened to be a FEMALE replacement!!! Now we all know how she came into the scene and hopefully, we will watch her grow. And interestingly, she is a BEAST and a FIGHTER; I mean what’s a wolverine meant to be?
